As the governor prepares to open a special session to consider new taxes tonight, tax opponents are in Annapolis this afternoon lobbying against Governor O'Malley's plans.
About two dozen anti-tax protesters are visiting lawmakers this afternoon asking them to resist O'Malley's tax plans, which include higher sales and income taxes.
The governor says the new taxes are needed to solve a budget shortfall next year. The protesters - including some business owners - say the government should cut spending to address the hole of $1.7 billion.

The session begins tonight at 8.
